PNG Sustainable Development Program (SDP) has a mandate to deliver development programs which provide lasting benefits to the people of Western Province. Our efforts are focused on Health, Education, Enabling Infrastructure and Livelihoods. We aim to supplement and complement the efforts of the Fly River Provincial Government (FRPG), in other words, help fill the gaps in the existing systems. In keeping with this policy, our Balimo College initiative is fully aligned with the FRPG 5-year Development Plan.

SDP is sponsoring the Balimo College initiative. Kokoda Track Foundation (KTF) is SDP’s implementation partner and we have arranged institutional backing through Western Sydney University (WSU).

KTF (Kokoda Track Foundation) is an international development organisation operating in Papua New Guinea since 2003. We work to improve lives, livelihoods and futures, keeping the great friendship between Australia and Papua New Guinea and the spirit of Kokoda alive. Expanding beyond our original focus region of Kokoda in Oro Province, KTF now works with communities across 17 of PNG’s 22 provinces.

KTF is a member of the Australian Council for International Development and has full accreditation with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs & Trades’ ANCP program.

KTF is SDP’s implementation partner for the Balimo College.

Western Sydney University (WSU) is recognised as the leading advocate for the Western Sydney region and as a dynamic young global university. The University is committed to sustainability, equity, transformation and connectedness and is a leading institution in early childhood education. WSU have partnered with SDP and KTF for the past 3 years to provide academic backing for the Balimo College and other SDP initiatives in Western Province.

WSU is the academic partner for the Balimo College and is working to enhance and support the curriculum development and delivery of the highest quality teaching and learning program at Balimo College.
